cant really slp on the night bus. yes another sg to genting trip. except that there's snow everywhere this time round. travelling south from newcastle to london. no street lights at first but there are on other roads.
just when i think i finally got some slp..the bus driver announced the arrival of a stop for us to go toilet. 3am. i din get down, tried to slp more but the person behind me keep hitting the chair..super irritated.
the bus amazingly reached at 0510 instead of the preplanned 0630. still dark...not sure abt london security so just stayed in the cold bus station till 0630 when it started to get brighter. carried my heavy bag and walked around. spent a long time encircling the residential area with all the hotels and hostels. really like a maze without a map. then finally got to the vauxhall bridge and saw the river thames. crossed it and walked along the river. passed by the lambeth bridge, big ben, st thomas hospital where i used the free toilet after one and a half hr walk since the bus station, the westminister bridge then crossed back the hungerford bridge, hoping to find the trafalgar square on the other side of the river. but well cant find it. but i walked along whitehall and really wanted to take the beautiful pics of the garden and the building but arghhh cam batt flat.
next thing i know i was in the westminister area. very nice statues along the streets and very unique architecture but cant take any pics. imagine how pek cek it is! shoulder andback cmi liao..walked back to the coach station to sit down. cold. after stoning and dozing off for one hr, was abt to get up and walk around the shopping centre nearby when my hp rang. thought it was edelene as she might call to ask abt laptop or stuff. unknown caller. haha..i asked who also but after cai's incident, i'd guess it to be merv. really sound very different. anyway i was shivering like mad, cant really speak properly and the lag was causing the irritating echo too.
walked around the shopping centre, very small, not many shops. it linked to the railway station and metro station but no seats are available there. well i went back t0 the berth which i'm suppose to be and slept there till 1pm. my bus is suppose to be 1315 but the person allowed me to get up the 1300 bus. lucky i took the early one, afternoon traffic was heavy, reached the stansted airport at almost 1500. i got a shock when the status of my flight on the departure board says closed! no row number for checking in! really impossible lor..i combed the whole departure hall and found the ryan air check in rows. and thankfully saw my flight no and a long queue. lousy board lor..scare me. another person opened another counter, speeding up the check in process. the lady just asked me lor.. and she din even see my e-tix. my luggage weighed 10.2kg. size and weight got thru, so i can hand carry it.
finally got the chance to get up the plane without an aerobridge. i could see the plane at such close distance. first time taking budget airline 2 rows of 3s with a centre aisle. hard chair. cant lie back and the poor air stewardess have to demo the evacuation process. nonetheless i slept thru'out though kept being disturbed by the person beside me at the window seat.. he go like 4 times toilet break within 3 hours lor. 2100 touched down. maybe becos the plane is smaller, the landing feels smoother than sia one. at first i thought all done manually like shown in the jap drama gd luck. but ming told me taking off and landing all on auto pilot leh.
at the customs, the person checked the list to see if sg need visa in. i approached the info counter to ask for map and where to take the bus to tampere railway station. first to got on the bus so waited for 20 min be4 it drives off but i was admiring the snow la. abt 1 hr bus ride to the station. 2250. met up with amy then she brought me to her apartment which is abt half an hour ride away. cold..super duper cold lor.everywhere is snow.
reached and met up with eliz too. wahhh their rooms so big...i bathed while they make spaghetti for me...so niceee.thanks alot. slept at 2 plus.
