today..studied a teeny weeny bit in the morning , then lecture, come back lunch then go for practical....
today last pharma lab. suppose to test for paracetamol absorption from the saliva sample ...the whole class is like spitting into the bottles lor..so disgusting..so we took at 0 min..then we went to eat panadol...3 leh! i got a shock when the person gave me 3..i still ask "all 3"? so many...really want to achieve overdosage meh. ok rehana took the paracet one only..i 've to take the paracet plus the charcoal, a drug which is used clinically to treat paracetamol toxicity..this should be better rite? since it's suppose to block absorption of paracetamol into the bloodstream..but anyway not i choose one..i let them choose first lor..rehana said she got headache so ok shun bian..but i think 3 tablets abit too much ba.
anyway the charcoal is one whole big bottle alsoo..super kua zhang..and it tasted terrible la..not only it makes ur own lips and tongue black, it tasted horrible and it's not just solution leh..suspension lor..got particles inside one..omg..haha but should see all the students' expression after drinking it..omg..so farnie.
k then we took our saliva samples at 30 min and 60min and then do all those usual lab procedures, add this chemical and that, mix and vortex, take out 5ml of this and add 1 ml of that to it....blahhhh..think long term do lab work can really die..so repetitve and boring lor..k we finished at 5..luckily..cos we've heard that the previous class did till 530pm..gd gd..we are on time..come back and oops..digestives again cos very sianz to cook..sighh

yesterday once more?
actually plan for yesterday is to go merz court comp lab and do the proj one..but well ermmm too lazy to get out of the house le..sigh,..online the whole day lor..eyes and back super suan. ok la..in the end change abit of plan..still got do the matlab la..run the tests then stuck again..sighh the usual thing..stared at it for abt 2 hrs..then decided to email liao..then study physio first lor..next tue test le..
ok really very happy leh! haha ym finally found a mic at home cos the day be4 i was telling her to dnld skype mah. although she talk so loudly and rudely, i still happy to talk to her cos she always sound so cheerful..then now can hear her voice...haha suddenly remember all the scenes at her house..super well done one lor..i always ask her do hmwk..never do at all leh..sometimes got hor but mostly blanks one..and just claim that she dunno how to do.

she super lazy pig one lor..the fridge is just beside her but she will say ehh take the drink from the freezer leh...and take one for me also...cmi rite? then eraser drop on the floor, she'll like suddenly beat my hand 'piagz' and i'll 'ouch! wat la?' but she'll just hehe..drop le..and just point at the eraser on the floor...sobsobsob..why do i haf such a good tuitee? hmm actually i treat her more like a fren lor..glad to know such a fren la..ok but the most ridiculous is hor..i travel from nus to her house leh...so long dist and i super tired after sch la..she will ask me eh ur leg...then i've to lift up my leg which she use as leg rest lor..
the more common ones like scare me suddenly from behind and draw ugly faces on my fingers dun say le la..countless times..shuo ye shuo bu wan. haha but truthfully..although it's quite torturous but it's quite fun also la...where can i find another tuitee like this..really quite du yi wu er lor..haha..enjoy being with her also..takes my mind off the lousy sch work.
and yea heard her father and mother in the backgrd also..felt nostalgic to hear their voices lo. auntie very nicee leh..so sweet of them....they ask me how am i adapting and coping etc ...hehe hope they're all doing well too..and that ym dun gek them can liao.haha.

great! today's last lecture for pharmacology. dr rm really like to mumble into the mic lor..brrlllleeeeaaaahhhhh dunno wat he talking lor. haha but it's all about adverse drug effects la...all facts also. k afternoon meet ming for project discussion...all the engineering mathematical calculations!! omg..i really dunno how i pass all those nus exams lor..cant remember anything..u know the thing is we really just study for exams leh..after that everything throw away le..the foundation and basics not internalised at all..really wonder why do we need to study. sighhh
well think here i study more at own will lor..not much stress.i even haf to create stress for myself.. so really enjoy sch here. everyday 1 or 2 hr only...ok maybe tat's becos i'm only taking 2 modules. the other 2 are ming's modules, which is like home tuition. one to one. and i only need to walk 5 min to his office. think one to one obviously better lor..cos anytime i can stop him and ask him qn to clear my doubts.so really can get the entire picture. despite having a clear understanding of the theories, since he even gives life egs as illustrations which enhance my grasping of the concepts, experiencial learning is a total different thing. i thot i know, then go back try out on the simulink still cmi..omg! then so paiseh haf to keep emailing and msn him to ask for solution..i think he really marking his own work..haha..
ok then ming brought me to the chem lab. where i finally saw wat's a valve and PID controller. different sizes of the valves are required for different pipe size. interesting leh..then all the plants connected to a central computer...then everything just monitor thru the centralised system can liao. think abt the same as ME if they measuring all the pressure required to the drive the liquids etc...just that they're dealing with chemicals lor..HCL + NAOH...neutralisation process...didnt know chem eng is like tat one lor.

morning still mug..i've never studied so much since one month plus ago liao. lecture at 11am. the guy which i dun like at first cos the first lecture he was like xin bu zai yan then keep looking on the floor, like lecturing the floor instead of us. but today he's quite farnie sia. haha he showed us the transparency and introduced it as his sophiscated drawings which comprises 2 stick figures, one with a circle as the body. then he said pple go to gym for 2 reasons, one is from the thin one to this(stick figure with an inverted triangle for the body) the other is from the round one to the thin one..totally no link to the lesson though it was on exercise..but...haha the transparency abit redundant. next he explained muscle in contraction..he run up then down the stairs, almost trip lor..so scary. another demo is he said we go travelling in easter, the places are really nice but the public toilets are extremely filthy, u wouldnt want to sit on it, so u squat and pee. crazy la him...damn funny lor..the whole LT burst into laughter. wat an eg!
kk hard work pays off..though the test was ez..anyway i need gd scores to pull up the first one that i failed and one i got 0 for finland trip. oki then to the city centre! omg! so beautiful... flowers everywhere and of my fav colour too! all different shades of it. super duper niceee! then got a few pink and blue ones. in front of the st thomas church is the most amazing one lor..so colourful.everywhere is so lively! spring in newcastle is soooo awesome. how i wish it to be like this everyday in my life. so cheerful! pple lying and sitting on the grass with small little white flowers. quite unbelivable leh..leazes park's view is splendid lor. there's an ice cream kiosk, birds flying over the lake which glitters under the sun. ducks paddling, children running with dogs and pple sitting on benches reading. the market is filled with pple, choosing vegetables, fruits and meat. eldon square with youngsters dressed up for spring and there are signs with "end of season sale" in most shops. so happening!
bought groceries....lucky din really buy alot..the fridge is full when i return! how contrasting. then had early dinner. edel called from leeds haha sooo niceee....i did another round of marketing on phone lor..she and fred sounded super onz to recommend me those cheap food...yea..think the market in leeds really sell cheap stuff..so THANK YOU edel for helping me buy some over. yup yup edel's back..tmr jiafang will be back too! yay!

yea..abit torturous to blog those in the past..ok so when i got mood then i type out those i've written on paper one month ago.
a happy sunday! feel as if i'm back in sg! had a lousy nightmare on sat night but it's a brand new sunday!
firstly it's a sunny day..which is really rare in uk. though i had to study cos there's a test on mon, which is tmr...erm yes i've one whole wk to study 3 sets of notes but i only touched 6 slides of the first set on sat! haha totally in holiday mood. study abit then remembered that i've another thing to do. so notes? on hold. i've the notes repulsion syndrome.
BUT rehana came back! with her dad, sis and bro..her bro really super cute lor. yea she's tired as usual, complaining abt the fatigue in her legs. but well it's understandable since she was running up and down the stairs at home. haha she was telling me that just as she was about to start studying, she felt thirsty, so down the stairs for a drink, soon after it's meal time, down again and will remain downstairs for quite sometime becos of the tv. then when she was packing up stuff for shifting over to hostel, up and down she went again. poor thing. that's the prob with multi storey house. wat's the most essential is having the kitchen next to the room else really can exercise liao.
then yay! got to talk online with yong and long. good chat. they're in grandpa's house so after yi zhang called! even the 3 melons also in lor..meaning everyone is there! so re nao..really miss all of them. ok the moment i pick up...i felt stress liao...he speak so fast and ok next...so it continued for 6 min...talking damn fast and passing the phone ard. omg! but so nice to hear all their voices. but too bad ah gong still cant hear, no matter how loud i shout into the phone. ok 2 more months.
the rest of the afternoon is trying to mug. yea trying real hard cos most of the time on comp. i dun even know wat did i do on the comp, got so many things to do meh? got sianz so took a nap..think abt 2 hrs plus..too long liao..so really cant slp at night. gd lor just when i need time to study. 2am then finally force myself to slp.

geneva with the alps!

so late liao..went out just to look for internet. Fr1 for 10 min and drinks are obligatory..well done lor.went back to slp and woke up at 8. breakfast then walked to the train station where we asked for prices to go up the mountains. the person very nice, offered us a good deal, Fr 89 for 2 days unlimited travel but within zone la. we then walked around geneva...nothing much but we found the famous jet and flower clock.wahh the guy sitting diagonally opposite me quite good looking leh..haha blogging on train to venice now..anyway he moved in to the window seat liao..blocked..cant see him le. ok. we took train to villars. super duper nice town. it was snowing. so picturesque..really loved it. 5plus le, too late to go any further up so took train back to geneva, reached at 9 plus, bathed and slp.

up at 630 for breakfast..super onz rite..we rushed out and on our way to glacier 3000. reached at 11 leh..so far away. waste time on transport but got nice scenery..really very relaxing to just sit in the train and watched the mountains, fields and rivers go past. on the way up the peak....the change of colour is really cool lor..green, grey then pure white snow and blurry clouds then clear blue sky..arghhh can i like cut the whole view in front of my eyes out and keep it with me foreva? cant bear to leave the place lor. but the sad thing is nothing up there at 3000m above sea level...no attractions at the top leh, only a cable car station. wahhh if got roller coaster then fun rite? cruising thru real clouds..
at the peak is like a vast sea of clouds..of cos saw it on plane be4 la..but this time we're outside with the clouds leh..no metallic barrier betw..but it's really cold.
ahhhh the slope damn shiok to ski la if u know how to without rolling down. too steep le..must be super pro then can do it. we stayed for awhile then headed to chateau d oex..no hot air balloon lehhhhh...so sad case. just another town only lor. but still nice.. the whole place is like...villages on slope, towns on some platforms and cities near the lake...wow!!!
montreux!!!modern..as nice as sg but bonus of high mountains behind and beautiful lake in front. cant find choc fondue leh..so no choice, headed back to geneva.ate cheese fondue..yucks really not nice leh.so much alcohol, i didnt really taste any cheese lor and it's eat with bread not fruits..omg...terrible.verbena tea...the only nice thing on the table.haha..yay! the person beside me din turn up leh..so i shifted in to the window seat..can see the shuai guy liao oops..haha gd leh..me and edel converse in chinese super openly, nobody can understand us..ok ok..anywya becos of the cheese fondue we were forced to order another dish. edel took soup but i had half. 2 bread, tea and tip give a total of Fr 15.4..can cry.sobsob. after that we went to use the internet for half an hour, uploaded merely 36 pics..sighh but luckily charged my mp3 player then got some SAD music to accompany me on trains. 5 more hours to reach venice where we've to search for accoms.

the most fun day! cos it's in disneyland! really another dimension lor..so meng4 huan4. beyond words to describe. me and edel reached late but they were even later. we took pics, queued up..lucky they arrived just in time when it's my turn at the counter.bul got the paper for 35% student discount..so lucky lor..super worth it 34.45 only leh for 2 parks, but really too much for one day la..we rush like mad..cant cover everything at all. first ride carrousel..haha yea..the most boring ride..but edel and bel like leh..so farnie sia. most fun ride is the music roller coaster, some aerosmith thing..so pro lor..the speakers integrated in the seats blasting at our ears while we cruise thru..super cool man! most fantasy ride is the small world...then the song it's a small world played thruout with all those cute little colourful props inside...all the characters so happy. the rocket launch is fun too..like usually roller coaster is slowly goes up one rite..this one like stop at the bottom of the slope then suddenly pumped up at high speed and goes rite down into the galaxy!!! splendid! really wonder how they build one..so clever to create the effects for the riders. armaggaedon abit waste of time la...those instructions/ stories told was all in french..cant understand at all, then takes so long time to get in..not worth the waiting in the queue lor. rushed over to the studio to meet them..saw the car show..act cool leh..haha but really cool la and good also.like the parking one the best..so synchronised lor..took the tram one to see the backstage work...like how they film the shows. after that back to fantasy world, rushed back for the story book ride but it wasnt as good as the small world la..nothing much. next to the discoveryland..finally found mickey to take pic with le..but he very short lor..i've to like bend my knees when he put his arm ard my shoulders.
honey i shrunk the audience.with the 3d specs..ok only haha. quickly took some pics and went out to meet the others. then fred said got good news...guess wat..the airlines on strike, their flight was cancelled. meaning we've to get internet access and check for ours. gd news meh? omg. i wanna go switz lor.
metro to the republic station, had indian dish...some rice la not really briyani.doesnt taste bad, not my stomach really rejecting anything tat goes in. didnt finish but still vomitted upon reaching their hostel. sighhh..damn xin ku...got online and checked..yes cancelled..but luckily we can rebook at a later time. but wasted one day not in switz..arghhh..lucky haven booked anything in switz be4hand. but we still haf to go over agil hotel near orly. so late liao..quite worried to be stranded in the metro or train station.we rushed back to our hostel, grab the bags adn took metro and rer to juvisy, then the trek to agil..so far away..and it's alr 1am. we keep trying to ask for directions. they either dunno or cant speak english. then i dun care liao..i just stopped a car at the red light and asked him. haha he super shocked, like half expecting me to take out a gun to point at him "get out of the car" . he super nice lor..he pulled over by the road side and signalled for us to go over. he even took out his street directory book and help us lor..amazed.
door was locked so i followed the instructions and call the person la..yea mumblings at the other end of the line..i know he's slping..but ermm we cant be stranded at the door rite..and the call cost me 2 pound plus la. for less than 1 min. gek. ok la he gave us the code and we went in lor..he appeared from behind a door..cant hear him at all wat so i went over..then he like quickly shut the door..haha must be not having clothes on. anyway the hotel quite gd la. but we purely for bathing and slping only lor..i concuss all the way to 1030am lor. when we've to check out by 11.
took bus to the airport..nice food court with free water..we stayed there for 3 hrs lor be4 checking in. delayed for 30min..the plane shook quite badly after take off..super unstable but we slpt till we reach finally reached geneva!
the most fun day! cos it's in disneyland! really another dimension lor..so meng4 huan4. beyond words to describe. me and edel reached late but they were even later. we took pics, queued up..lucky they arrived just in time when it's my turn at the counter.bul got the paper for 35% student discount..so lucky lor..super worth it 34.45 only leh for 2 parks, but really too much for one day la..we rush like mad..cant cover everything at all. first ride carrousel..haha yea..the most boring ride..but edel and bel like leh..so farnie sia. most fun ride is the music roller coaster, some aerosmith thing..so pro lor..the speakers integrated in the seats blasting at our ears while we cruise thru..super cool man! most fantasy ride is the small world...then the song it's a small world played thruout with all those cute little colourful props inside...all the characters so happy. the rocket launch is fun too..like usually roller coaster is slowly goes up one rite..this one like stop at the bottom of the slope then suddenly pumped up at high speed and goes rite down into the galaxy!!! splendid! really wonder how they build one..so clever to create the effects for the riders. armaggaedon abit waste of time la...those instructions/ stories told was all in french..cant understand at all, then takes so long time to get in..not worth the waiting in the queue lor. rushed over to the studio to meet them..saw the car show..act cool leh..haha but really cool la and good also.like the parking one the best..so synchronised lor..took the tram one to see the backstage work...like how they film the shows. after that back to fantasy world, rushed back for the story book ride but it wasnt as good as the small world la..nothing much. next to the discoveryland..finally found mickey to take pic with le..but he very short lor..i've to like bend my knees when he put his arm ard my shoulders.
honey i shrunk the audience.with the 3d specs..ok only haha. quickly took some pics and went out to meet the others. then fred said got good news...guess wat..the airlines on strike, their flight was cancelled. meaning we've to get internet access and check for ours. gd news meh? omg. i wanna go switz lor.
metro to the republic station, had indian dish...some rice la not really briyani.doesnt taste bad, not my stomach really rejecting anything tat goes in. didnt finish but still vomitted upon reaching their hostel. sighhh..damn xin ku...got online and checked..yes cancelled..but luckily we can rebook at a later time. but wasted one day not in switz..arghhh..lucky haven booked anything in switz be4hand. but we still haf to go over agil hotel near orly. so late liao..quite worried to be stranded in the metro or train station.we rushed back to our hostel, grab the bags adn took metro and rer to juvisy, then the trek to agil..so far away..and it's alr 1am. we keep trying to ask for directions. they either dunno or cant speak english. then i dun care liao..i just stopped a car at the red light and asked him. haha he super shocked, like half expecting me to take out a gun to point at him "get out of the car" . he super nice lor..he pulled over by the road side and signalled for us to go over. he even took out his street directory book and help us lor..amazed.

paris...romantic meh?

early train to paris, walked alot lor..tens of kms. pantheon and de louvre on the first day. first was damn nice...but still dun understand how the pendulum thing works. how does it tell the time? was amazed that de louvre actually houses so many famous works. but only all original la...the maze-like building damn big...spent most of the time figuring out the plan and how to walk ard lor...so confusing.then was closing time liao..so well we'll come again tmr with the leeds pple. so sad they not meeting us for dinner le..so me and edel continued walking to see the royal and grand palace. saw the night view of eiffel from afar..nice..the orange view and the blinking one..so niceee..super tired lor..wat a long walk back. me and edel deserved a pat...high endurance level. haha..yea couldnt slp at all..nauseous thru out the night.the room just kept spinning. vomitted. edel also nauseous thruout the night...damn xin ku.
met up with the rest at notre dame the next day..raining. nicola din join us..she vomited too..omg..really mass food poisoning lor. the cathedral is really nice..saw 2 services..haha we tried to sing with them in french lor...so cheem..next to de louvre..the queue is super duper long. much worse than the day be4...
everyone was super tired..no strength to walk at all...so they rested at the roman antiques section. bel and i just went ahead in search of the "treasures". i waited for her while she went to see the moat which i've seen then she never appear liao...kk 15 min left be4 gg back the roman section. so i hurried off to look for the turkish bath and gnome with a snail...cant find the former at all lor...then i asked the lady who told me tat it's in another exhibition now, need a separate tix in...arghhh..waste my time and leg power. the latter was not outstanding among the rest too..a small one in the display cabinet not like mona lisa like one centre wall with barricade ard it. but well....no time for the rest liao..
went to see the arc be4 gg to the eiffel tower. then at the eiffel place, we decided it's too early to catch both day and night view so went to the opera house instead. just take pics outside. back to eiffel..had fun finding all the good angles for photos..haha..super sad that the top level was closed...then fred and edel was deciding whether to go up or not..i cfm not gg la..11 eur for the top. 7.7 eur for the 2nd level.. if go must go all the way wat...go half way might as well dun go. well we're just gg to wait ard till dark...take more photos haha...then suddenly super windy and sand flying everywhere ...those who contacts damn farnie lor..haha..keep covering their eyes....captured a candid shot on that..so cute. yay!!! go back to the tix office...the top level opened!! of cos go liao la...in paris le leh..haha
fantastic view up there lor. but real cold.went up at the right time lor...day, sunset, night...damn niceee...the rest all went in liao...bel and i braved the cold..i was actually shivering like mad liao..but cannot waste the view...must see longer...haha..getting more and more crowded at night lo...cant even see the board explaining plan works...ok finally cmi liao...went down to find the rest..found fred and edel shopping at the 2nd level souvenir shop..elaine msged..she alone downstairs liao! so ke lain.cos no shelter..she must be sitting on some benches...damn cold lor..we always got separated and lost each other one..haha...waited for almost half an hr be4 we can got into the elevator to bring us down to the ground level. had crepes for dinner..sit in 7.5..take away 4.5...so much diff..wanted to sit in and get shelter from the cold but ermm save the 3 eur la. damn paiseh lor..cos we sitted down liao..then haf to say our hostel has curfew..no time to eat so just take away. haha. actually i think marche's taste better.

chocolaty brussels
hmmm the air is so sweet smelling lor...chocolate shops everywhere..nothing much though the square is really nice. the buildings are unique...we shopped alot lor..looking at all the pretty chocolates and getting free samples everywhere haha. ate waffle..damn nice lor...lucky i ordered the waffle factory. tat's the only one with no description but i din go for the surprise order haha..asked the person wat is it first..cinnamon with mapple..yummy!

amsterdam where hair is a hassle
checked into a 10-bed bunk but only 8 of us inside so yay! as good as private liao and the breakfast is SUPERB lor. lucky we stayed a few nights there. so shuang..think also fun becos eat tog in a grp mah.
walked around the small city area, really thousands of canals and super windy lor. i dunno how many times swipe my hair away from my eyes. damn irritating. checked out the famous red light district... too early nothing lor. went again at a later time. so scary..they snapped with flash leh...then got 2 guys come out shout at us. lucky never beat us up.
next day perfect day at zaanse schans. damn nice lor the place..so many windmills..soo serene..then got kids play some games on the floor, running round the fence which keep the farm animals...wahhh super utopia. very picturesque also. many shops for tourists, cheese and wooden shoes are local products. but really not sure is it boring for residents..cos we tourists go there once cfm will appreciate the peacefulness but duno how so for the pple staying there long term. went back amsterdam, check out tours at the counter then back to our hostel where we got our free beer and took pic with a shuai bartender.haha then after that elaine was saying that he must know that he;s cute himself cos after that dunno wat...all his frens come over the bar and took beer then they spoke dutch and luffed..nvm la..really meh? all shuai guys cfm know they themselves are shuai one ah? so confident? used the free internet there too..damn good.
day trip to madurudam which i din go in. well think one time xiao ren guo in china enuff le..not gg in again ba. so i walked by the main road, following the tram track to the coast. really wonder wat's the wind speed lor. i could feel myself being carried into the air. could hardly balance. it's like fisherman village in sentosa! super nice beach..so many stalls and all haf the signs with springs...ji smart..cos i remember the east coast ones keep toppling over and pple placed rocks at the bottom to prevent it from falling over. sand was fine and sticky. nice to step on..and good that it's not flying in the wind.
almost forgot abt the time...quickly rushed back. this time i ut thru the park instead, which i planned to be4, but scared i get lost or wat..now really got lost. the dirt path just ended suddenly, grass and bushes everywhere, there;s a central hill la...but i cant seem to find a way round it just by following a general direction. and there're so many poo ard. then a dirt path appeared as suddenly as it disappeared be4. i followed abit, it leads into the woods, can see a rover from the outside, i hesitated but when was abt to just walk in, a duck dunno appear from where quacked damn loudly..ok watever, i heeded it, be it a warning or not, i took another route but really no way to cross the canal, so i make one big turn back to the entrance and then finally back to the same route which i took be4. 1535 liao. i suppose to meet them at 1530. i ran lor...but when i reached they still not out yet.
1550...finally heard edel and fred's laughter..so distinctive. haha...we walked back to the central station where huiting left us. i really wanted to skip the train fare one leh..haha to delft but the rest dun dare..sigh..nothing special at delft actually...still say the most well preserved dutch city...delft to amsterdam is just like durham to newcastle lo. food was gd though..the person at the restaurant really super nice lor..taught us a few dutch phrases..and chatted with us. head back hostel...beer and internet.

edinburgh and stay over in leeds
ok from edin onwards i blogged on paper le so can just copy, faster.
went to our dorms straight, wandered abt while waiting for fred and huiting to reach. we roamed abt in the old city towards the city into the new city where we saw a boy juggling fire sticks. but he not very pro leh. merv went forward when he ask volunteer but also dun get wat he want..total confusion.
had lunch buffet in the old city..really alot of variety but no discount given leh, as promised by ah qiao, the lady carrying the board on the streets.
went into edinburgh castle..very big castle indeed. surprisingly the crown of jewels room does not haf super duper tight security leh...or at least doesnt look like..maybe all the sensors or alarms hidden. to the chambers of POW, amy actually said they're quite ok wat..she dun mind staying there! haha crazy....
getting dark and cold le. went back hostel to take our coat before gg to the not-worth-it night tour. plus it's raining..the guide has quite a strong accent leh, if dun listen hard, i cant catch wat she talking lor. she just talked on and on while bringing us to the different parts of the city and the graveyard. i was super drained of energy during the tour la..soo tired. stayed over at cowgate's hostel with the finland grp..damn cold lor..heater not working at all and i was half wet. rushed over to broodies in the morning to join the rest. then we all took bus to the highlands and farewell to merv who's leaving for london tat day.
slept thruout on the coach lor..cmi..never listen to the guide. accord to ht, i was like slp then wake up snap some photos of the scenery along the way, loch (lakes) and valleys (cant remember the scottish name for it) then slp again. no la but i heard the guide say something abt the myths and heard the song. sounds nice leh. saw a video and toured the castle and saw the loch ness haha..only got the monster statue there lor..but still got one whole family one leh..
at night we sent the rest to the coach station..tried to find some scottish pub but erm..haha so farnie lor..everytime we walk into a pub..everyone will turn and stare at us. strange.
next day up to the hill...poor jiafang carried my backpack for me despite me insisting to carry it myself..edel's heavier one was carried by fred...haha guys so ke lian. took pics of the monument and the view of the town. we went to slack in mac waiting for our train back leeds.
yup stayed over at fred's house again. really love to go over lor..always got nice meals. he cooked laksa still got shrimps one lor..damn nice. but next day morn early flight..quite stressed...quickly call cab but the reception like so lousy one. finally got one coy which is quite efficient, sent us to bratford airport on time..we quickly checked in and up the traumatising jet 2 which landed super hardly in amsterdam. woke me up suddenly lor.
oh yes how can i forget the super pek cek thing! i lost my GP rechargable batt and charger la..someone just shun shou qian yang be4 they check out lor. it's only the starting of the 3 wk long trip leh..damn suay.

back to newcastle with sep pple from finland
we splitted cos the guys wanna watch soccer match tat night when we're leaving by train. reached late at night but there were 4 of us so not risky. but still cannot let down ur guard, cos there're still news of assaults. the only thing is that it's cold at night and our luggage super heavy..cmi lor. quickly walked back to my hostel and yea! so warm and cosy. 2 on bed 2 on floor.
quickly get as much slp as poss cos tmr i've test but well done still haf to get up at 6 to fetch the guys from the bus station. anyway i was late..haha planned to wake up earlier but i shut my alarm unknowingly. thanks amy for accompanying me to fetch them..so she also very poor thing. 3 hrs slp really not enuff la. then come back i cant slp liao...last min mug lor..lucky i scored for the test..i even studied on trains leh, sacrificing my slp..so wei da. but then i actually shouldnt haf cos nobody studies lor..the average not really very high.

amy and jenny joined me for physio lecture..haha damn tired to absorb anything. amy was the one copying notes for me lor..the rest just walked around...nothing much in newcastle also. nice to stay but not for tour la. at night we went over edel's place to chat lor..haha wat did we do ah? i really think i slp walk there lor..dunno wat's happening. and but yea thanks edel for hosting 2 of them in her room. haha else my place really no space. not like their rooms in finland mah..so big and cheaper also.
then next day..they all go shopping in the morning. amy and jenny went to tynemouth..haha but they got the rainy version. i've lesson the whole day la..so sianz. but lucky the lab ended 2 hrs early! made dinner tog but tat costs me an extra 4P to buy a new pot for sarah. dunno who make claypot spaghetti using her pot lor..then cant be scraped off. and think the teflon layer came off le. oops haha. we went quayside at night. just take night shots only. slept early to prepare for the early train next day to edinburgh.
2 days in london..
astor victoria, that;s our hostel. good! though it's shared bunk, not like in rovaniemi where it's private. but still good. breakfast good also.. highly recommended.
finished the entire river thames haha...from 2 ends though. the first part i've walked the last time i stopped over be4 finland, then now merv's fren took us ard abit near the river. yea london bridge is really nothing compared to the tower bridge which is nicer.
went to this superb natural sci museum too. so many different themes in the various exhibition halls..really too rushed le la..ok if i go london again and if free must go again. all the different types of animals..really educational.
buckingham palace, cant really see the change of guards...tip toeing all the while to try to see over pple's head. horseguards really quite cool lor...how i wish i can ride on the horse. my dream hobby leh horse riding...sg's one so ex..siao lor..

skiing in tampere, flight to london
back from rovaniemi, though tired but still wanna try skiing! super cheap lor 12 eur only leh. for 4 hours actually but we only used 2 cos no time and it was indeed tiring la..be4 we went, the gals who had tried be4 alr mentioned how tiring ur legs will be..haha no fake. the beginning was really torturous lor..cant even climb up to the automated rope which will pull u up. yea we tried the beginner slope of cos. so no ski rail to take up. but well must persevere. everything must start from the bottom wat. as long u can overcome the starting which is usually the hardest, the rest of the obstacles no kick le. dunno how long i took to finally managed it up lor. then the first time ski down, no doubt will fall la...so i'm all prepared and must aim for a good spot to fall nicely..dun want to get injured lor. total lost control of it...the skis just glided down the snowed slope.
with the limited info that we got from eliz....yea very nice of her to bring us there ..but she never ski...must be bored waiting for us..really sorry. the rest all experiments liao lor..actually the basics quite similar to ice skating just that the thing on the feet is longer and more din dei. then got a mother with son and daughter helped us leh.. they just come over and guided us! so nice hor..so there are many pple in the world who are really kind! or maybe they are rare but i'm really lucky to keep meeting them. the son super cute lor..and so cool..think he'll become a super zai skiier when he grows up..but he personal tutor to merv la so jealous..haha but he'll shout out to me sometimes when i'm near him..so encouraging lor..really deserve a pat. but i got coached by the mother who's more pro of cos..they speak limited english but still we managed to get ideas across. but very scary..haha she keeps asking me to try..cos practice makes perfect mah. but of cos under her guidance, i quickly picked up some techniques . then i haven even learn braking she teach me turning le leh...like ski in the zig-zag way. looks easy but totally cant turn my feets at all. i think really need the whole body to shift but it'll be like on a motor bike when one really turns at a super small angle...scared will fall. really fun lor..if given more time and a longer slope should be able to get it, cos on the short slope, be4 i could turn reach the bottom liao..super shuang lor when u ski down..very cooling..
bus to the airport and then flight back london. reached late. last bus was supposed to be 2340. but we 're still stuck at the customs...super long queue despite being able to take our backpacks up as hand carry luggage. they're actually too big la..and i've no space for it. anyway i called up the bus coy to check if the bus could wait for us. luckily he said there're many buses from stansted out to victoria. and said there's one at 12. ok..so gd we should be able to get out by then. slp all the way during the one hr bus ride. woke up at bakers, which is near victoria.

wahh really testing my memory..very xin ku to recall..ok the sequence all mixed up but i recalled some of the events.
ok i remembered our accoms is super good. good breakfast too. free internet..even better than hotel lor i think. but this sets super high standards for the accoms awaiting me during the easter trip. quiet town too...even in the city centre..nothing much to see also but we just walked here and there lor. went to source around for cheap safaris then pizza buffet at rex. dun want to eat it one, esp after the unforgetable 7.5P pizza buffet in ncl. but anyway it's really much better @8 eur and greater variety too. haha was like trying out all the flavoured tea too.
the most fun one is really the snowmobiling to the reindeer farm. actually haha was the pillion rider at first la but later eliz let me drive for the 2nd part but shortly after we reached the farm le. the tribal pple brought us into a tent and hold some ceremony . the tea is damn nice lor..unique taste. went on the reindeer sleigh and got the reindeer driving licence which will be valid for the next 5 yrs haha..but we din even do anything. the reindeers really super guai lor..just auto pull leh..me and amy are on one and it runs lor..never stop one. cos be4 our turn we saw like some will walk and stop for awhile. but maybe becos we went on the track alone, cos last pair mah..sooo fun. next tea time. some cookies and coffee in a cosy cottage hut. lots of skins hang on the walls..nice la...like all the different colours and patterns but cant imagine how they de-skin it..like very ke lian. then we tobogan! haha quite a good slope there. i did twice for fun but subsequent times was becos stupid merv dunno how to video using a cam. arghhh..make me do so many times.. ok la but still haf to thank him for letting me drive the mobile on the way back..hehe..but following the grp really restricted lor..if only can anyhow drive..the ice is everywhere lo, wat a big area..so tempting to just create new tracks on it. max 70 but really wanted to go all the way up one leh..but scared cant brake in time then i'll bang rite into the vehicle in front..then hai them also..so cfm cannot risk...3 more pple's lives in danger leh.
went to the santa village by bus. nice place. crossed the arctic line. saw santa claus in his office. slacking in post office, take photos and wait for them to buy postcards. it's closing soon, so no time to write and post. sad case. wandered in the souvenir shops. then me, juan xz and eliz decided to stay for the night view of santa village while the rest went back. this decision really left us an entirely unforgetable experience. the last bus never came. we tried to hitch rides but nobody responded..so sad..not enuff charm haha. really totally dunno wat to do. can take cab la but will be super ex..we all quite unwilling to pay lor. asked the stall tendor, nice chap, and luckily he can speak english. he just said he's off work 2 hrs later but we've waited for abt 2 hrs be4 asking him.haha and we also not sure he has car to send us home or not..just postulating all kinds of poosibilities. then just tried asking pple who stopped at the petrol station but all had luggage in the car..no space for us at all..else they were not heading the same direction as us. sighhh...but finally eliz got someone who's willing to send us back! super nice rite..it's a couple but only lady knows abit of english..bit of comm prob but still able to catch abit here and there. they were actually on their way back home from the city(where we were heading to) after sauna in the city. omg! meaning they're gg back again specially for us..so paiseh...of cos cant expect them to send us all the way back to the hostel la..once we crossed the bridge we asked to be drop off then we walk all the way back. so cold and hungry..and tired..terrible..
first night we walked for super long uphill to this skyhotel in hope of seeing the aurora. we went to the roof lor..sooo windy and cold. but still ren3 leh. despite our perserverance, the sky still refuses to clear. so cloudy..cant see anything lor. sighh..take cab back the nice accom. 2nd night no strength to walk up the hill again liao. went to the lake instead. walked around, enjoying the frozen lake, waiting for some lights to dance but no. then 3rd night when we were returning from rex buffet dinner again, to our hostel to get the backs be4 boarding the night train back tampere, we saw it! very mild, green light only but it moved! sadly i only managed to capture one on camera. firstly my hands really frozen like mad and secondly the night mode is super hard to use, cant even shake abit one lor, thirdly it lasted for a super short time la. then never appear liao..so stubborn...make me keep looking up the sky waiting for another one to appear.

took bus to helsinki, met up with their fren, marika then grab hesburger for lunch up the boat to suomenlina. amazing to see the boat cruising thru the broken ice on water! yea the city is proud to haf 7 icebreakers on sea which allow ships to cruise.
not too bad a sea fortress but the first building that greeted us was pink. abit weird. think it'll be nicer in spring or summer when there's greenery. then it'll be a perfect place for picnic liao. but anyway winter time just an experience lor. it's really super quiet..cant believe there are residents there. i cant remember how many liao..was it 2000? took pics with all the canons up on the cliffs, overlooking the frozen sea. so many pple carved words and signed off on the ice. mervyn also went down to carve his super off shaped M..still need us to guide lor..and happily demanded the photo to be taken fast cos he very cold. who ask him sit on ice? next :to the king's gate. not much time also since marika has to leave early. k back to helsinki and lucky they got bring me ard the city area, market and church. then we went to the stadium and waste 2 eur ea up the tower. really good money lor..just build something high up so u can get to see the view of the whole city and earn $$. rushed back their accoms and got ready for the night train to tampere where we'll meet the gals be4 heading to rovaniemi.
