Day 7- Weather interception

Day 7. Morning hike up the glacier trail. Franz is more popular than fox. More crowded, easier path but it was still drizzling. The glacier looks nicer at the angle from grd level. More beautiful waterfalls cascading down the picturesque rocks formation of the cliff. Easier with the sports shoes as compared to the proper hiking high ankled boots. Another shower for the lens. =( great for the morning exercise.

Lunch at full of beanz cafe next to the skydiving reporting place. We had 30min initially. Reported at 1pm and was put on hold. Morning jumps were all cancelled. We were told that we can either wait for 330 or 6pm jumps. Ok to try again at 330pm, but for 6, will make us too late for check in at greymouth. Anyhow we waited. Chilled at 2 cafes and roam abt the town centre. Wind is still too strong, on hold again, given the option for 6pm. Really i would have given up. Strike a compromise till 5. It was obviously still windy. Anyway frens went over okarito region so well they could have more time to explore. It was jus a waiting day for us. They cant conduct jumps on days when wind is too strong, clouds are too low or when weather is bad. A pity. Disappointed but can always set out on another quest next time, to the north island maybe.

Drive up to greymouth with dinner stopover at hokitika. White bait burger and wild boar long dog with chips before arriving at the motel which is super far off the town centre! Ulu. Checked with reception. No my poor watch has yet to arrive.
