Extension of the london trip - Bath

7-9mar. Next to bath. The guesthouse is so nice! The lynwood, managed by husband and wife, only 6 rooms and tho it is quite a walk from the towncentre, which i really appreciate the walk to and fro across the bridge despite the cold anyway, it is highly recommended for the nice rooms and nice pple. Pple always make huge difference in traveling experience. Prolly my 2nd fav town after york. Pretty. Would be so nice to stay there, except for it being too touristy already.

The georgian terraces are a beauty. Can u really recognise your own house for the first wk of moving in?

That's dinner and dessert which fascinates me with the outline of the fork made from spinkling cocoa powder over a real fork.

The next day went on a day tour to stonehenge, avebury, lacock and then to castle coupe . Was initially not keen in traveling over to see a stack of stones whose images are rampant online anyway. But then the trip proved me wrong. Most of the time, if i am able to visualise myself experiencing it, i can give it a miss and even i go over, i will just be muttering "see, i told u so, nothing special what."

But this pack of huge stones, [why arent they call rocks? They are huge!], they are  so wow. Nothing beats first hand experience. When i was there, jus felt .... beyond words to describe. The rocks formed a circle, in the midst of this vast green plains. And we were fortunate with the good weather. The sun shining through the white clouds, we could only look up at the blue sky when the sun goes behind the clouds for awhile. The rocks are said to be transported from wales? On rafts. Seriously, i only half believed it. Shrugs. Cant dispose the possibility as there are already many hard to believe happenings, so well...There are many stories online anyway, so which one is the truth? They are amazingly placed in such a way that they are astrologically aligned! Using 2 types of stones, the sarsen and the bluestone.

The wind was uber strong and cold in the vast plains. I turned back for one last look as i run towards the bus which was almost leaving. The sheep seem as big as the stonehenge on the left. So wow. would have been able to control our own timing if we were to rent a car and drive over, instead of being restricted by the tour bus.

The other places are jus side dishes. But still love the architecture, how can they build such nice thatched houses and such fairytale towns? More rocks littered the grassland in avebury at equi-distance! And then another harry potter's filming scene at the abbey which i cant recall which scene tho. I really have a strong affinity with england. Love it totally, cant experience it elsewhere in europe, except for switzerland prolly, for its mountains and lakes. Wanted to try wales but well, didnt have sufficient time. Scotland was nice too, but still not the same as england. Lucky i did the overseas study in newcastle, such great choice, haha.

Last day in bath, how can we miss the roman baths? At least it is the most complete one to date that ive seen. Ironically, the ones in rome, tho much bigger, are just left with ruins. The british prolly build it back as much as possible, with water even, hot, natural from the below the ground. Sugoi.

We had lunch at the pump room with live piano and violin performance, so cool, really cant complete the entire meal, with starters, through the main course to the dessert with the nice english afternoon tea. But ive watched pple completing them...how can their stomach be so big? The starter and main course and tea at 16P is considered cheap for the ambience and the food is quite nice. According to the locals, the cost of living is high in england. About the same absolute value, that means everything cost double due to exchange rate, but already better as compared to the the time when stirling pound is three times the sgd. tho i thought some of them are alright, manageable, either the same or even cheaper, considering other factors, compared to singapore. Can really consider migrating over.
