course in place of office work for 2 days. refreshing but well the content is real cheem la..and yes british council teaches not just english but soft skills leadership courses etc. anyway, soft skill courses arent easy. it may be easy to understand the knowledge which the trainer is trying to impart, but in real life, often it's definitely not easy to apply.
the main gist of it. positions vs interests. u dun keep arguing and bargaining over positions which mean stances, but u explain and share ur interests. manz..it's easy to say lor. but who's interested in ur interests. it's yours not mine anyway. and i think it's often misunderstood as excuses. i dun get this.
dun assume. we are split into 2 teams, each to play a different role and then we met to negotiate. this is amazing cos it's really not on purpose that i said out " we need the crocodile eggs as the ingredient to make the vaccine is in the yolk."
and the other "oh so u only want the yolk?"
"u mean u need the whites?"
"no, i only need the shell"
then everything resolves. fine, so we dun haf to fight for the eggs. the agreement is just tat we'll split the costs for the eggs and extract the relevant parts for each party. competitors can become partners rite? and now we just need to work hand in hand to convince the restaurants not to sell crocodile eggs. together.
another is the option. generate and give options, no pt arguing over the same point. this is powerful.
and yes the 2 days course i summarise into these pts..there're alot more, just tat either i cant rmb or it's really too cheem le.
anyway i like my trainer. she has the northern uk accent, like those acting in the harry potter movie. cool! she's really from leeds..haha. and then sense her dislike for liverpool and arsenal. faintz..the north and south always like tat. sensitive sia.
2 days' lunch at amoy street hawker. ban mian and chicken rice. so so la..no chance to eat the famous long queueing cha kuay tiao and lor mee. :(
and i really dun hope to go tanjong pagar anymore, esp in the morning. the number of pple out of the train is like 4-5 times more than redhill? 2 escalators filled and the continuous stream of pple walking up the stairs. so many pple working there ah.
