what’s good? credit’s urs as ur name is mentioned next to ur article.
what’s bad? you have to get inspired and write interesting articles so that it will be accepted PLUS u need to meet the deadline..
the recent papers cover mostly stories of the late dr goh, letters from many pple, all good comments, generous praises. i hope they were conveyed to him previously. serves as positive fdback to encourage him for the great amount of effort put in during his stay. achievements n character are summarised. to me, it’s more enjoyable to read the letters, there’s personal touch. reports are purely factual, reporters are not allowed to input their personal feelings so as to prevent skewing the information.
a few pointers i took away from the letters, summarising good leadership, someone i’ll like to learn from, aka a good mentor, sadly i haven met any. wouldnt it be great to work with or rather know someone who is”
1. a man of ideas but also excels at bringing these ideas to fruition.
>>>no NATOs pls…had enuff of it.
2. a man to work in a crisis. if he’s confident that one is up to the task of overcoming the crisis, he hardly interfered in their handling.
>>>nice. trains the person to depend on his own and manage it. on the other hand, the trainee needs to be aware of why and how the trainer thinks he’s not up to the job when the trainer interfered…it’s ok to be interfered but the trainees shld know what are the room for improvements n then of cos it’s up to the receiver at the end…his choice to learn and accept. but if the trainer doesnt even do the first part…it’s injustice
3.an influential mentor, an inspiration for us
>>>seniors/mgmt should just focus on themselves…are they even playing this role? instead of judging others, ranking and having tendency in prejudices
4. humble and simple man, who in his quiet ways inspired one to achieve more.
>>> this is on top of imparting knowledge. it’s like ip-man. quiet man. as empty vessels make the most noise. it’s like not giving a man a fish, but teaching the man how to fish, are the mgmt even doing this?
>>>no wonder the org doesnt grow…
