it was 2 days ago but well...
i went with edel and met up with one int soc person and all other international students. int soc isnt doing their job lor..one person to bring the whole grp?
took train...only one stop, wanted to skip the tix like wat mentioned by sg frens. but we dun dare to..haha..it costs 5 P. but if we are caught not buying tix it'll be 20 P.
should haf bought one way though cos they didnt check when we return.
durham is a small town..upon reaching, the int soc person just say that it's free and ez and they'll be havin lunch at 1. erm...ok..so we walked tog towards the city centre and the castle where the cathedral and the uni of durham is. midway we separated. the grp gets smaller as we neared the city centre. everyone stopped to take photos and diverted the route. so edel and i did the same. haha but we still reached the castle with most of them. cant take pic inside..such a pity...it's really magnificent inside. but tombs are all under the ground and some outside. there's a service inside...pple were walking round and round and there's a choir and band..they sing super nice lor. how i wished i could record down.
i went M&S and bought bread, spread and biscuit = 1.57P..ok la..not too ex. need to stock up else i'll be starving. edel intro me to whittard tea...wow...the nicest and most unique tea i've ever tasted. but it costs 2 for 8P. too ex..will source ard for better prices. then we had BK for lunch 2.99P of cos not worth lor..
we went to the river side which is super duper cold..walked one round and back to the station. we walked thru newcastle city centre back to our halls. midway we stopped at a supermart in chinatown and i bought some beehoon and noodles for 1.55P ex rite...flour only leh. well it's still cheaper than eating out. not a bad sightseeing day.
