ok i really not thinking liao..just want to type out cos dun want to take these papers up the plane.
reached and bought the boat pass and map at the information counter in the train station. someone approached us and offered accom and then a 2nd one came, but the 1st person said something in italian i think. maybe they agree on not taking each other's customers. ok we decided on taking back our pre-booked hostel. lousy one. spacious but dirt la. breakfast was the worst. one bread and one coffee. full stop.sighzz.
we put our stuff and then came out. dinner was super ex la. the ultimate 0.5l bottle of coke and fanta orange, cost 6 eur each! 12 sing for one bottle leh..i can drink 12 bottles meaning 6l lor. madnes. we ordered lasagne and frankfurter pizza. lasagne tasted very different and not very nice leh. the pizza was alright la. just thinner crust. i think only sg has thick crust lor. walked the main area, rialto bridge, ate gelato which is eerywhere. yum yum. then we headed to the shipyard, thru all the residential streets. the houses like the china si he yuan la..just tat the houses are like 4 storeys high blk of flats. the centre small square is where the kids play. the pple staying on the 2nd level just chat with the pple under their window. they dun even need to shout. very quiet place.
venice is so cool. no cars, transport is either on foot, bicycle or boat. the houses haf their own boats, tied outside their doors along the narrow canals. it's actually an old town lor. the main industry other than lace, masks and glass, it's tourism le, esp along the rivers. we went to look for hotel for our last night cos our train out venice is super early one at 6.
we woke up early adn checked in hotel biasin. good leh. 18 eur for 3 bunk room, so much better than the HI one lor. it's opened by a family, the old grandma gives a super homely feeling lor..like those read in novels kind.
we set off for murano island. entered the gallery. so many glass products, lamps, chandeliers, horses, cups etc. we then went to the glass blowing showroom cool! startedd with just one blot of glass on the stick. the men heat, blow, using gravity to shape the molten glass, powder, heat twice, shape, heat and set in mould. poweder again, heat and done. so much heating. they're so skilled liao. the person, maybe it;'s the boss super nice lor..but too frenly sia, so scary, make me feel obliged to buy. but really quite ex. wanted to buy the mouse de. not very big and it's 10 eur liao..but iscared it'll break by the time i bring it back newcastle, not to mention sg. he was like help me tidy my windbreaker hood! cos he said it was super crumpled. hahaha..i stunned for a while lor. crumpled nvm one wat. he chatted with us and said tat he visited sg 20 yrs back. i was like only 2? anyway we paisehly said tat we'll buy later after we see the whole island.
we walked further in, more shops, took pics with some church, shopped till noon, the glass pics were really pretty but ex. back to san polo then san marc square. wow..really ming fu qi shi de venice lor. so many pigeons but alot of pple also la. huiting was telling us the pigeons like more than the pple there. the birds totally heng chong zhi zhuang one. never watch out for traffic de leh. really scared they'll fly rite into my face. we stepping on shit all the time lor. k back to rialto bridge. the masks were splendid too. actually better to have the whole collection. so either buy all or none, but i really like it alot la..totemo suki desu. well just buy the nicest one lo 5 eur for a small one. over spend in venice la... edel also. md just visited too in june..he also said the same thing. but he spend 200-300 eur i think. omg.
the gondolas were super nice la. 80 eur per boat leh! madness..waste $$..haha but edel was saying if take with bf not bad cos romantic. but i still think no need to waste $$. row boat only wat. can build own raft lor. kup the logs and manila can liao..or just take kayak la..less than 20 sing rite. besides i think the boat ride there gives the experience liao..so shuang and refreshing. if i take it everyday to nus, i dun mind lor. just like the bumboat to ubin..big contrast with the bus ride la. the pple really damn pro at docking the boat lor but weird leh no bumper de. keep banging against the platforms.
after dinner, we went back to the hotel. came out to sit by the river for awhile then back to room to slp.
