I woke up at 3am but yes it’s too early but sg time alr 11 am. I went toilet and I hear my mp3s clearly from outside. Oops but it wasn’t loud from the inside leh. The silence is really deafening lor and the walls are totally not sound proof. I turned down the vol and continued slping till abt 6 then I unpack my stuff but not completely, made a cup of milo …took a few pics and rot…man nothing to do lor…if only I could get online. Cant wait to see the coord. Nobody woke up yet. Finally I heard sound outside. Rehaina was in the kitchen. She’s washing up pots, clearing stuff be4 she goes home. Well at least someone who actually clears up..after looking at the condition of the living room and kitchen. We chatted and she toasted bread for me, with cheese spread and jam. So niceeee of her. That was solid food since the chips on BA flight. But I wasn’t really very hungry leh.
I packed my stuff, brought my laptop in hope of getting somebody to configure for me so I can access internet. With my thermal flask and documents, my bag is super bulky. I walked to the medicine fac with her and spoke to the nice and pretty lady behind the desk. Wanted to speak to jane calvert but the lady said that there’re 2 other pple from my uni and there’ll be a talk tmr, fri, when I can meet them and also asked the tutors any qn. Erm…not another day of rotting and waiting for things to happen. I must make things happen! I asked ‘so there’s nothing for the day? I’ll just have to wait till tmr?’ Ok she asked me to hold on and she’ll checked for me. Then she printed a prog list. Yes the orientation prog starts today at 10. lucky I asked her. Else I’ll missed it. And tmr’s the induction talk which I will confirm all the modules I’ll be taking and get my smart card!! Internet, I’m coming!! I confirmed the venue and time for fri then I headed towards curtis auditorium, herchels building, of cos under the guidance of rehaina. It’s along the way to city centre.
0930…should I walked with rehaina to the city centre? It’s only across the road. haha it’ll be awkward to take pics then, I’ll take it next time when I go groceries shopping. From the outside I can see the table with many brochures and leaflets and that might be for the international students. Ok nvm, in case I couldn’t get the way back to the herchels building from the city centre, I bade farewell to rehaina and entered the building. There were 3 other pple. The ladies are very nice, asked if we are there for the orientation prog and she said we’re early but we can go into the LT and sit inside. i walked ard the small place before entering the LT. met phoebe and Claudia, both from germany. We sat tog and chatted abit, waiting for other pple to enter and the lecture to start. Yes it’s really a lecture, lucky I slept a lot last night, else I cfm doze off. A girl sat in front of me, I bravely tap her and asked if she’s edelene! Ta dah…got it…haha so I can recognize Singaporeans. Haha back to speaking the lahs and at a faster spd.
The lecture lasted for 2 hours…after which we’ll haf a free lunch!! Yummy!! i was hurrying the speakers inside my head throughout the talk…great, I’m not alone. Everyone wanted the internet access badly. Anyway I want the free lunch, another solid meal after erm almost 22 hrs putting aside the chips and bread. The dining area was quite a dist from the herchels building. super duper cold…..much colder than yest even though it’s in the day. Guess it’s the sea breeze. Lunch was in an elongated room with a long table with all different kinds of sandwiches, I picked 3, tuna, ham with weird paste and shrimps mixed with dunno wat paste. White but not mayo I think..doesnt taste like. Chips! Why is it there? Haha. Fruits (red and green grapes, I ate a lot of the green ones, oranges, watermelons, kiwi, nice!).fried onion, not rings. Tiny Donuts? Erm ok like tea lor but it filled my stomach. Really wanted to take pic one but think others will think tt I’m ah tiong! Sad case. Chatted with edelene more, though we’re suppose to know others from diff countries..ok one French guy, americ…dunno how he pronounced it, edelene repeated as American..haha that’s wat I heard too. then I asked him to spell…well he said his English isn’t good so he’s learning it. Well it’s really hard to master both French and English ba….so different. French is too difficult to articulate le.
