ok their hp nos have 11 digits no wonder i cant thru edelene's phone. still early..so i went castle leezes to try looking for her...asked a girl, so said must add a 0 in front of the phone no. ok so i got thru but she never picked up! so no choice
i proceeded to attend the induction session with the prof at 10am. they all really very relax in office...speak slowly...do things very relaxed one lor...i'm not in a hurry la so follow their pace haha else in sg i'll be like "cant hurry up abit". good ah..slow pace...but i shouldnt really pick that up else when i return sg i'll die. the prof's very nice..patiently explain everything to me...settling the modules, credits, timetables...he really did alot of work lor...i thot i'll need to search for myself online.
ok but i still have to do alittle research on my own too for engineering modules. really very few to map...no wonder no ME students come..sigh i pick the wrong one...aiya nvm la...it's for the experience and i can clear UEMs here also wat..same lor. though not really maximising the advantages of the SEP.
k everything cant be confirmed till monday but i went to the library to collect my dear smart card..haha a registered student in newcastle. got edelene le...well done 30p for 10 sec then the next time i put in 40p for 15-20 sec..and cant settle where to meet haha..70p=2 bucks. ok nvm. i prepared 50p but cant get her again le.
with the smart card, i went to the computing services to register for online services and email account. whoa...long walk...but that's becos i lost of way...the map looks funny lor..k but got there after asking someone. log in the first time in the comp cluster...much smaller than nus one..but think they've many clusters ba...inside like less than 20 comps. or maybe that's the smallest cluster here? replied mail. so sorry to get my family and frens worried...really no chance to contact lor..haven got the hp card too. sigh...
yes..registered my laptop too...so troublesome lor...everything must register....then still couldnt contact edelene. i went back hall....configure my laptop...yup! got it!!! internet access!! i need you so muchhhh. haha..got msn...skype to chat..goody!
got a surprise visit from edelene haha..oh ya she got my add but i dun haf hers. settled abit of the internet reg then we went to her fren's hall also in richardson, from chem eng one..the bunch of frens leaving soon cos they were here for last sem. met up with another called yusen, then we walked a long way, past the st james park =the stadium in newcastle. very cold and dark..was abt 6 plus pm then. then we reached their fren;s apartment where we had steamboat..wah alot of effort made in preparing lor...got ham roll with carrot, tou gan with mushroom, vege, meat and the soup is superb. k more pple joined, some are perm students here. dinner till 10pm then we left to play with the fire crackers or works..watever u call that. k yan1 hua1.
7 of us set up the stuff in the 'cow field' betw castle leezes and richardson. nice but it's the silent kind. haha then they put those standing on the grassland, watching and taking photos while it shoot up and lighted the sky..ok not so exaggerating..haha not strong enuff to light the whole sky la. then i suggested to hold on to it, why put it on the ground..but everyone dun dare leh..haha..i never play put on the ground one before lor...even for the loud one...right rude? that time i didnt expect it to be so noisy leh...i lighted the cracker in my basement open air area but the neighbours sure can hear super clearly. haha then everyone held in their hands and had nicer photos taken. but not my cam...had fun even for a simple activity.
but i'm really too cold and tired to go pub with them le....1230am...CMI. the guys very nice to walk me back hall then they shun bian visit their fren while the girls went castle leezes to change. k i reached my warm room...so glad...and dozed off in a sec.
